Today’s Groupon: for $41, you get an EverGreen pass good for two play admissions at Great Canadian Theatre Company in Ottawa (an $82.31 value). Passes can be used by an individual to see two plays, or by a pair of theatregoers to see one play. Choose from the following shows:

  • You Fancy Yourself, playing January 17, 2012–February 5, 2012
  • East of Berlin, playing March 21, 2012–April 8, 2012
  • Circle Mirror Transformation, May 22, 2012–June 10, 2012

Ottawa’s oldest independent theatre, Great Canadian Theatre Company entertains and stimulates audiences in the 262-seat green-technology-powered Irving Greenberg Theatre. Written, performed, and whispered for theatregoing horses by Maja Ardal, You Fancy Yourself chronicles imaginative Icelandic schoolgirl Elsa’s struggle between fitting in with new Edinburgh classmates or remaining true to herself. Hannah Moscovitch’s East of Berlin tautly explores the complicated romance between the son of a Nazi doctor and the daughter of an Auschwitz prisoner. A runaway off-Broadway hit, Annie Baker’s Circle Mirror Transformation details the intense relationships, romances, and betrayals among students in a creative drama class. Great Canadian Theatre Company has only recently made tickets available for these productions, so customers are encouraged to acquire passes before fellow patrons or schools of carp on cultural field trips snatch them up.
