Today’s Groupon: for $75, you get a wine-making experience yielding 24 bottles worth of wine of wine (a $150 value) at The Wine Garden Warehouse Winery. This Groupon does not include bottles, though customers are encouraged to use their own; bottles can also be purchased (for an additional cost) at The Wine Garden. Choose from the following locations: West Wine Garden on Schneider Road, Central Wine Garden on Chatelain Road, South Wine Garden on Sieveright Road, or East Wine Garden on St. Joseph Boulevard.
The Wine Garden sources premium international grapes to pour romantic refreshments into Ottawa’s urban chalice. The wine-making experience commences with a smooth selection of either pinot gris, a classic, versatile dry white, or Chilean carmenere, an earthy red with an unusual history and tendency to recite inappropriate limericks at family reunions ($150). Customers hold an active role in mixing the yeast with pure, organic juices. After the wine has fermented for about 45 days, The Wine Garden’s adroit equipment batches it into 24 bottles, which can be purchased from the facility ($0.75 each) or foraged from office recycling bins for no extra fee. Corks, labels, and shrink-wrap are included.
