Fly Me to the Moon (October 30–November 18)

Francis and Loretta, a pair of home-care workers in Belfast, know only one thing to do when their elderly client dies in the bathroom: lie. As their deceit leads to more deceit, the two are thrown into a black comedic romp that evokes laughs and cringes from the audience.

Carmen Aguirre’s Blue Box (January 15–February 3)

From Carmen Aguirre, the author of Something Fierce: Memoirs of a Revolutionary Daughter, the winner of the 2012 CBC Canada Reads competition, comes a stage examination of her life as a Chilean revolutionary. The show, performed by Aguirre, charts a course from Chile to Hollywood, touching upon her love affair with a TV star and her role in the struggle to change the course of her country.

Like Wolves (June 4–23)

After 54 years of marriage, Sam surprises his wife Vera with an anniversary trip back to the bed-and-breakfast where they spent their honeymoon. But the couple finds that the once-rustic locale is not what it used to be. Things get worse when they find themselves stranded after Sam has a sudden heart attack. Holed up inside, Vera must face lingering questions in her life and the familial relationships she’s forged as she encounters an ominous visitor and her daughters.

Now in its 38th anniversary season, the Great Canadian Theatre Company is recognized as the oldest independent theatre company in Ottawa. The troupe brings the thought-provoking works of up-and-coming Canadian artists to the intimate 262-seat house of the Irving Greenberg Theatre, which is powered by green technology and conduits that drain the peaking emotional energy from their audiences.
